MLK Weekend/Team Updates

Happy Friday, Mogul Family,

No matter where you were last weekend, from Sunday River to Killington to Mount Snow, the conditions were challenging - but it looks like we're out of the clouds now, and the forecast looks good. The group at home had a few good training days, and I think our bump line was the only soft snow on the mountain. We are now in mid-swing in the competition season and have a bunch of moving parts.

Registration for the Comp at Mount Snow: Registration for the meet we are hosting opens next Tuesday, January 20, at 8:00 PM.  PLEASE BE READY TO REGISTER WHEN IT OPENS.  Our event will sell out - possibly in minutes.

Live Scoring at Mogul Events:  Every event has Live Scoring that updates when scores are inputted.  The link is the same every week; you just have to find your event.  https://winfree.hfti.com/livescoring/.

Team Potluck Dinner on Feb 7th: Thanks to Andrea for securing the Ski Club for a team potluck dinner. All family members are invited. Also, this is the Saturday of the B/EQS Event at Mount Snow and the A/ECS Event is at Stratton this day - so everyone should be able to make it!

Killington Comp Was a Go ... Mostly: Coffee flowed freely in mugs, and the K-Town base lodge was warm and comfy for parents cheering on their athletes. Our team's colors were on full display with the new jackets, which were a definite stoke builder, drawing plenty of envy from other teams. Unfortunately, icy conditions made for a challenging mogul competition, but our athletes rose to the occasion and skied great. Those Pivot slips come in so handy! We had multiple athletes reach the podium, earning some well-deserved maple syrup and making it a strong first competition with plenty to build on.  ~ Rob, Corey, and Mikey.

Sunday River Summary: Variable weather with rain and a hard freeze made for a steep and icy A/ECS Moguls course.  Mount Snow athlete, Lexi Lafferty, was able to stand up their run on the challenging terrain to earn herself her first USSA points of the season.

Our A/ECS Skiers Are Heading to Bristol, NY: Mikey is taking Route 90 West for a few hours to lead the A/ECS Team at Bristol this weekend.  Good luck. All other athletes are back at Mount Snow with Paul, Rob, Corey, and me.

Peace, powder, and pancakes,

-Laff
